Upping Your Social Media Game
Is your social media working the way you would like it to? Are you generating interest from the content you post? Do your followers share your content? If you are not answering yes to these questions, then you need to consider upping your social media game. I know, you are probably saying, that’s nice, but I don’t have time to do more than what I am already doing. For the most part we all understand what “likes” are. Likes are easy to hand out and don’t really provide us with any “real” data that our followers are engaged in our content. We need our followers to comment and share our social media posts so that we know our story is being told the way we want it to be heard and for the time when we need our supporters to “have our backs” … Because it is not if, is it when!
Here are some tips on generating more comments and shares.
Share user-generated content from your fans and followers.
Hold a giveaway or contest.
Create “tag a friend” content.
Post behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
Take advantage of “reactions” on Facebook.
Use more emojis.
Create a how-to video.
Poll your audience.
Run a Facebook Live or Live Instagram Story campaign.
Partner with another brand.
Repurpose content like blogs and videos.
Curate third-party content.
Jump on trending topics.
Share tips.
Participate in Throwback Thursday.
Post video testimonials.
Host an AMA series (ask Principals/Management anything)

Benefits of Engaging Users on Social Media
Creating a visual picture of what we do in our schools everyday is important to our community and constituents. Asking our audience for their opinion can create more value and long-term goodwill, as well as provide support on initiatives that are important. The more people feel connected to what is going on in our buildings the more likely they are to support you should you face a big crisis or need their assistance when it is time to pass a bond issue, in either case, it is always better to be proactive than reactive!
